About VIT
About Us Virginia International Terminals, Inc. was established in 1982 as a result of the movement towards unification of the Ports of Hampton Roads.

Prior to the establishment of VIT, Norfolk International Terminals was operated by Maritime Terminals, Inc. Newport News Marine Terminal was operated by Port Authority Terminals, Inc. and Portsmouth Marine Terminal was operated by Portsmouth Terminals, Inc. The Virginia Inland Port in Front Royal, Virginia opened in March 1989 and is now the fourth Terminal operated by VIT.

Since that time the Company has grown into a major leader in the Hampton Roads area. VIT ranks with the most sophisticated terminals in the world.

  • For POC - Go straight, through the light toward the fence and curve to the far left to enter the POC visitors parking lot
