Presidents Day Holiday Notice

President’s Day Holiday Notice - On Monday, February 20, 2012, in observance of President’s Day, all VIT facilities will be closed for Container, CFS, or Breakbulk pickups and deliveries. (APMT, NIT, PMT, NNMT & VIP). The NCY and PPCY will also be closed for empty container pickups and deliveries. Container Yard, Breakbulk and Container Freight Station work will be performed on overtime rates with prior arrangements only. VIT Administrative offices will be closed.

Port of Hampton Roads' container volume up in December

"December was a big month at the port of Hampton Roads. Container volume rose 11.4 percent from the same month a year earlier."

"That's the best month we've seen, really, for a couple of years," Russell Held, deputy executive director/development at the Virginia Port Authority, told its Board of Commissioners on Tuesday.”

Port secures last-stop status on shipping line's route to Asia

"A global shipping-line service connecting Asian ports and the East Coast through the Suez Canal has reworked its lineup of port calls, making Hampton Roads its last stop out in addition to its status as an inbound destination, the Virginia Port Authority has announced."

Mediterranean Shipping Co.'s "Golden Gate Service" links ports such as Shanghai and Hong Kong with New York/New Jersey, Baltimore, Charleston, S.C., and Savannah, Ga., as well as Hampton Roads.

New CSA setup at APM Terminal. Please review the below map of the new CSA setup at APM Terminal. The tentative start date for this new layout is Jan. 30th, 2012. HRCP II chassis will be located in CSA closest to CSA interchange lanes. Maersk chassis will be located on the North side of the CSA. New signage will be installed and Roadabilty will remain in the same location on the North side. View Map
